Springbank United Church Sunday Worship begins at 10:30 am and everyone is welcome to join us.
“Springbank United Church has a new Minister - Rev. Dave Crawford.
Having been raised in Calgary Dave is quite familiar with the Springbank, Cochrane, Bow Valley area, and is privileged to serve the wonderful people of this welcoming country church. Dave’s grandfather once served as a teacher at the Springbank School for 14 years - Mr. Richard Milton. Rev. Crawford comes to his new position following a lengthy and interesting transfer process from the Presbyterian Church in Canada into the United Church of Canada. His father was a Presbyterian minister, serving from 1967-1995 at St. Giles/Calgary. Dave’s memories of his early experiences with some exemplary Christians in his “home” church are what led him to consider serving God through ordained ministry. In 1989 he set off for four years of intensive study and training at the Vancouver School of Theology (UBC Campus), followed by four wonderful years at St. Paul’s Church/Eckville, seven years at St. Paul’s/Banff, two years at Braeside/St. Albert, and most recently a number of ministry stints at Rundle Memorial United/Banff, McDougall United/Calgary, and Knox United/Calgary.
Dave is blessed to be married to Miho, and the two Crawfords enjoy the company and energy of their cat Mango. Hiking, golfing, Flames hockey and Japanese restaurants are Crawford favourites. They are devoted fans of the CPO, Calgary Opera, and the Alberta Ballet.
Worship at Springbank can be described as somewhat traditional yet with a fairly informal approach. Our worship services are joyuful, using a blended approach to music ministry. We worship God and strive to discern God's presence and promises with regard to contempoary issues of life. This warm and welcoming congregation invites you to join them Sundays at 10:30 a.m. We'll have a Facebook page up in the near future. Blessings!"
